From Goodreads.com:
On top of spending most of her time in a bunkerlike safe house and having her dates hijacked by a formidable Fae bodyguard, Faeriewalker Dana Hathaway is in for some more bad news: the Erlking and his pack of murderous minions known as the Wild Hunt have descended upon Avalon. With his homicidal appetite and immortal powers, the Erlking has long been the nightmare of the Fae realm. A fragile treaty with the Faerie Queen, sealed with a mysterious spell, is the one thing that keeps him from hunting unchecked in Avalon, the only place on Earth where humans and Fae live together. Which means Dana’s in trouble, since it’s common knowledge that the Faerie Queen wants her – and her rare Faeriewalker powers – dead. The smoldering, sexy Erlking’s got his sights set on Dana, but does he only seek to kill her, or does he have something much darker in mind?
I was a BIG fan of Jenna Black's first novel in this series, Glimmerglass, so when this arrived on my doorstep I couldn't have been more excited! It had been awhile since I read Glimmerglass though, so after skimming it I dove right into Shadowspell.

I've said it before and I shall say it again, Jenna Black has taken the Faerie world and made it her very own. I love the things she has added because not only does it surprise me, it definitely keeps me interested. The plot of this book may not be the most original idea, but the way it was written made it something unique. I admit, there were a few times I found myself a bit bored, but it didn't bother me because of everything else in the book.

Dana seemed to have grown since the first book and I really liked that. Sure, she had some quirks and made some bad decisions, but who's perfect? There was one thing that really bothered me, but Jenna Black definitely didn't let her get away with her naïveté. I found out more about Keane too and I loved it! Ethan was again the arrogant jerk he usually is, but at the same time he is completely lovable! As for the Erkling... I didn't know whether to swoon, hate him, or what! He had me on a roller coaster of emotions and I am dieing to learn more about him! Novella anyone?

Overall I loved Shadowspell just as much, if not more than the first book in the series! Jenna left me dieing to find out more and I will be eagerly awaiting it!
